INTRODUCTION

          The Hospital Main Library is located at the permanent site of the Hospital at OkeOyi in Ilorin. It also has a branch situated at the School Complex at Amilegbe in Ilorin, known as the School Library.

The Hospital library has been described as the “Brain of the Hospital”. It is the custodian and repository of knowledge and store house of information materials which acquires, organize and preserve knowledge. It also serves as a powerful agent for creating awareness and dissemination of current, relevant as well as quality information to all staff and students.

          Libraries are often regarded as the nerve centre of any institution where knowledge and skills are acquired to solve information poverty and ignorance, therefore reading wide is the basic tools for survival. Developing knowledge is an essential tools in any nation’s growth, so visit the library often for your survival.

          The Hospital Library is sectionalized into different area to enable her deliver its services effectively to the users: These sections include; Circulation, Serial, Reference and Technical Section.

          The Library has in stock medical textbooks, non-medical textbooks, journals, daily newspapers and magazines.

HOURS OF DUTY

MONDAY      - FRIDAY- 8am – 7pm

SATURDAY   - 10am – 5pm

SUNDAY       - 2pm – 7pm

Responsibility

  • To create awareness and disseminate up to date information.
  • To ensure easy and quick accessibility as well as utilization of information sources.
  • To empower all staff and students of the Hospital with effective and quality information
  • To conduct research at all time for patrons.
  • To impact knowledge.
